With only a few short weeks left till Spring arrives, although in Texas it’s more like summer time, I’m kicking up my workout routines and changing my meals to help get me in shape for all those tank tops, shorts, sun dresses and everything great that spring brings. Of course we can’t forget that March is National Nutrition month! With that said I wanted to share just a few of my favorite recipes…

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had am amazing New Years and are off to a great start! so much was going on the last week of 2013 that I forgot to make my new years resolution. Last year’s resolution was probably the best one I’ve made to date because it changed my life in various of ways. I thought about it for awhile and finally made the choice to become vegan. Now I’m not going to lie, it was hard the first couple of weeks and even the first few months of it but I loved every minute of it. I discovered so many different fruits, vegetables, and learned new ways to cook meals. It really opened my eyes to this new exciting way of living, eating and just overall nourishing my body. My parents, who are Mexican and really enjoy their meat, started to change their diet and slowly incorporate more greens. It’s nice to see people even my own family make a positive change in their life that will affect them in the long run. Now I wanted to make my new years resolutions for this year really count but instead of making one huge one I decided to make a few ( okay more than a few ) meaningful ones.

2014 New Years Resolutions

  • Surround myself with positive people
  • Worry less
  • Don’t be afraid to be myself
  • Drink less or not at all
  • Make someone’s day
  • Focus on what’s important ( job, school, family & friends)
  • Take more risks
  • Stay healthy and happy ( being healthy makes me happy so win win!)

Knowing me I’ll probably add more later on in the year but this is all I have for now. I plan to blog more on my second year of being vegan as well as other things that happen in my life. *prepare for tons of food pictures!* I’m so excited for what’s to come in 2014, aren’t you?
